BOURNEMOUTH Poppies eventually emerged victorious from the rain-soaked clash with goals from Jacob Miller, George Morton and Alessandro Linford at the Fernheath Recreation Ground.

A quick break down the left set up Miller for the first before the home side had to withstand some pressure from Poole, who were very quick on the break.

But after the heavens opened, a slick passing move between Linford, Sam Fudge, and Tom Weeks set up George Morton to fire into the roof of the net.

And the points were wrapped up in the closing stages when a handball was spotted by the referee with Linford slotting home the penalty.

Poole’s Benito Voisey rattled the post with a lob in the final 10 minutes but the score remained the same after both teams played some excellent football in atrocious conditions.

Ryan Wiles was the players’ man-of-the-match for Poole while Sam Eyre took the manager’s award.
