IN-FORM reserve Kyle Howarth will bid to become the best of British when he competes in the upcoming under-21 and senior championships.

The Pirates young gun has produced some memorable performances during the early stages of the 2013 Elite League campaign.

And he will get the chance to build on those eye-catching efforts when he takes on the country's leading riders.

Howarth has been drawn in the Edinburgh senior semi-final on Friday and will meet the likes of Chris Harris, Danny King and Edward Kennett.

Four days later, the teenager will be among the favourites for the British under-21 title at Monmore Green.

Pirates team manager Neil Middleditch said: “He is a great talent and what we like about him is that he never gives up.

“He just wants to do well.”
