DORSET coach Alan Willows is targeting title glory this summer as his men prepare to begin their 2013 season.
The county start the new campaign with a friendly against Wiltshire at Salisbury tomorrow.
And after getting into a position to challenge for the Minor Counties Western Division crown last year, Dorset, who eventually finished fifth, are aiming for trophy success this time round.
“There is no question we are going for the title but I’m sure everyone else thinks they have a squad that can finish top, too,” Willows said.
“We have lost Darren Cowley and Glyn Treagus who, after playing some wonderful cricket for Dorset, have decided to retire. It is a blow because we don’t like losing players of that quality but it gives opportunities to others.”
Lymington bowler Simon Beetham and Bournemouth all- rounder Alex Butler will make their Dorset debuts.
