Popular comedian and presenter Alan Carr left Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary shocked after throwing up behind a sofa on This Morning.

The Weymouth personality appeared on the ITV programme to promote his new BBC quiz show Picture Slam.

Talking with Alison and Dermot, Alan recalled his horrible experience with a Southeast Asian fruit called a durian which he says "absolutely stinks".

Unfortunately for him, the ITV duo had one of these fruits in the studio but viewers at home were stunned to see what happened next.

Alan Carr throws up on This Morning after biting into fruit that 'absolutely stinks'

Taking a bite of the durian, Alan Carr asked: "Can I get rid of it?"

After a few moments, the comedian turned around and began spitting it back up behind the sofa.

A stunned Alison Hammond jokingly said: "We did have a tissue but don’t worry!"

Responding to the comment, Alan said: "Oh sorry, I thought I was back at home! I feel bad about being sick behind your sofa, I’ll clean it up, I’m not a savage!"

"It smells so bad… It’s like I’ve come in here and trumped!"

This Morning 'pulled off air' after Miriam Margolyes's sweary antics

This comes after Harry Potter star Miriam Margolyes left Holly Willoughby red-faced when she appeared on This Morning as an 'agony aunt'.

When a caller asked what she should do about a neighbour parking on her property, the 82-year-old responded: "It's a problem with neighbours because - I think you have to go to them and say 'I really need to talk to you about this because my health is being affected. I'm not happy and that's not fair is it?' And then if they're still like that, throw s*** over the walls".

When another viewer called to ask advice about her husband who spends too much time on his phone, the star told her to grab his mobile and shout put the "f***ing phone away".

During a rebroadcast on ITV+1, the segment was pulled from the air with viewers being greeted with a blank screen stating: "We'll be back soon. We are temporarily unable to bring you our +1 service. We will resume shortly."
