The Glastonbury ticket website has crashed amid thousands of people across the globe attempting to secure their place to the coveted music event taking place in 2023.

The ticketing fiasco has left many 'fuming' as potential revellers find themselves kicked off the site when they attempt to check out.

Many took to social media to blast the website while others expressed their sadness and disappointment with the whole process.

One Twitter user said: "Nothing more heartbreak8ng than #Glastonbury ticket site crashing just before you enter your card deets"

Another added: "I had my #Glastonbury tickets ready in my basket and that’s when they decide to kick me off the website"

In a tongue-in-cheek Tweet, Somerset Council, where the festival's venue, worthy farm, is located, said: "Didn't get that #Glastonbury ticket? Just a little reminder that #Somerset has lots more to offer than just the best music festival in the world..."

Many fans were disappointed with 'hiked prices' for this year's festival, with some branding the event as "exclusively for the wealthy".

However, Emily Eavis, the event's co-organiser defended the new ticket prices, saying: "We have tried very hard to minimise the increase in price on the ticket but we're facing enormous rises in the costs of running this vast show, whilst still recovering from the huge financial impact of two years without a festival because of Covid."
