A 53-year-old man has died after being hit by a car in Clydebank.
He was crossing the A82 Great Western Road near Dalnottar Cemetery at around 5.50am on Thursday when he was struck.
Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman driving the car was not injured but was said by police to be extremely shaken and was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
The road was closed for several hours for investigations to be carried out.
Police Scotland are appealing to motorists in the area who may have seen the man, who was dressed in dark clothing, walking towards the Erskine Bridge before the incident happened.
In a statement, the force said: βIn particular, anyone with a dashcam is asked to check their footage and hand it in to police as the images could provide important details which could assist the investigation.β
Anyone with information is asked to call road policing officers at Dumbarton Police Station via 101.
