TWO MOTORISTS in Dorset have been arrested after reportedly being found to be driving under the influence of drugs.

Both drivers were found to be driving under the influence of cannabis and cocaine respectively using DrugWipes tests by officers from Dorset Police No Excuse team.

The driver of a black Peugeot in Poole apprehended by police for failing to provide a blood sample after officers said she was “unsteady on her feet and her speech was slurred” when stopped by police.

A spokesman said: “On Thursday June 17 at 7am, we were called to reports of a female potentially driving under the influence of drink or drugs on Alder Road, Poole.

“We located the black Peugeot on the move, when stopped the driver was unsteady on her feet and her speech was slurred.

“A DrugWipe was conducted which came back instantly for cocaine, she was arrested and taken to custody where she refused to provide a blood sample for analysis.

“She was charged with failing to provide and will be in court shortly.

“Please continue to report those who you think are a danger to our roads, we later visited the informant to thank them for reporting and informing us of someone on the roads that could potentially kill or seriously injure someone.”

A driver of a white insignia in Boscombe was stopped by police on Sunday June 20 after receiving reports that the motorist driver had a revoked driving licence.

The entitlement to drive was removed by DVLA as the driver failed to reply to a medical request.

A spokesman from Dorset Police No Excuse team said: “It’s important to keep your address updated with DVLA.

“When we caught up with the vehicle in Boscombe, the driver claimed he wasn’t aware his entitlement was removed. The address at the time wasn’t updated.

“The driver failed the DrugWipe test for cannabis and was arrested for the offences, a blood sample was taken which has been sent off for analysis.

“The vehicle was seized due to no licence held.”
