A PROJECT Manager from Corfe Mullen has lost seven stone in just over four years after transforming his lifestyle.

Chris Ferns was suffering with constant heartburn due to being overweight, so in October 2016, aged 50 he joined his local Slimming World group.

Since that fateful day Chris has lost seven stone and has achieved his Slimming World Personal achievement target award.

Chris said: "Before Slimming World I would tuck into a fried breakfast, then have sandwiches and pasties for lunch followed by a takeaway and chocolate in the evening. The meals we eat as a family now are all healthy and our favourite is a roast dinner.

"I’ll never stop attending my group. Being surrounded by like-minded people is so vital in helping me maintain my weight loss. I am so pleased to have started Slimming World when I did as with the current pandemic and the risks for overweight men, it probably saved my life."

Since losing weight, Chris no longer suffers from acid reflux and he took part in the Paris to London bike ride, something he would not have been able to do seven stone heavier.

Slimming World consultant, Zoe Mole said: "Slimming World supports around 60,000 men to lose weight and lead healthier lives each week. The number of attending men in group has gone up by 27.5 per cent since 2016.

"I am so very proud of Chris' achievements and look forward to supporting more male members in the future."
