A NEW bid has been made to extend a takeaway's opening hours.
Last year Bournemouth council rejected plans to extend the hours of Istanbul, at 144 Old Christchurch Road, so it could serve food until 5am.
The eatery is now under new management, though it is still named Baraada Ltd. The takeaway itself is now named Pyramids.
Dorset Police says the area around the takeaway is "clearly a hotspot area within the Bournemouth cumulative impact area for violent crime".
In a submission objecting to the plan, police licensing officer Steve Lemon said: "Dorset Police is of the opinion the licensing objectives would be undermined if this application was granted, and another premises was allowed to operate at times evidenced when crime and disorder and public nuisance is at its peak within the night time economy."
Bournemouth council's licensing board is due to consider the plan on Thursday (FEB 15) at 9.45am.
