DETECTIVES have released a description of a man they want to speak to after a rape in Boscombe.

As reported in Saturday’s Daily Echo, a man was subjected to a serious sexual assault in the area of Boscombe Gardens between 10 and 11pm on Thursday.

Officers investigating the incident have now released a description of the offender.

He is described as a white man, aged between 30 and 50, of slim muscular build, clean shaven with a deep voice.

He was wearing a dark coloured hoody, which was possibly Adidas-branded, and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.

The victim, a 21-year-old man from Bournemouth, was not injured.

A police cordon was put in place and an examination carried out by specialist crime scene investigators.

DI Becky Riggs, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: “This was a sustained attack that lasted approximately 30 minutes.

“It is likely that there were members of the public in the vicinity at the time that might have seen something suspicious.

“I am very keen to encourage members of the local community, in particular, anyone that was in the gardens around this time, to do the right thing and come forward. I stress that all calls to Dorset Police are treated with the strictest confidence.”
