HARRY Redknapp last week turned down the chance to return to management with Cherries, reports in two national newspapers claim this morning.

The Daily Mirror and Daily Record both claim Cherries chairman Eddie Mitchell asked Redknapp to take over from under-fire boss Paul Groves following last weekend's 4-0 defeat at Swindon.

But the papers say Redknapp rejected the offer, telling Mitchell to give Groves more time.

The 65-year-old, says the Mirror, is understood to be monitoring the situation at Premier League QPR, where boss Mark Hughes has come under increasing pressure following a poor start to the season.

Redknapp has been working as an unpaid advisor at Goldsands Stadium for the past three weeks.
