A FEMALE jogger was punched in the face by a man who tried to rob her.
Detectives in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses after the incident in Winton.
It happened at around 10pm on Thursday in Victoria Park Road.
The victim, a 19-year-old woman from Bournemouth, was approached by a man while she was out running. He punched her in the face and demanded property. When the victim said that she had no property on her, the suspect ran off in the direction of Morden Road.
PC Simon Bellamy said: “This was a nasty attack on a young woman as she enjoyed a run, and she is very lucky to have only sustained minor bruising to her face. The victim has been left shaken by this incident, and we believe it is likely somebody may have some information that can help us in our investigation.”
The offender is described as a white man aged in his early 20s, of muscular build and wearing a dark coloured hooded top.
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 28:007. Alternatively, call the free Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
