MUSCLIFFE, Moordown and Springbourne will be the next areas to benefit from the council’s multi-million pound Road Rescue programme.

A total of £450,000 is to be spent improving Southcote Road, Wimborne Road and Muscliffe Lane.

The work will include repairing potholes, refreshing road markings and refurbishing traffic signals.

Work will start on Monday, October 1 in Southcote Road and will move to Wimborne Road on October 15 and Muscliffe Lane on October 22.

Motorists are being warned to expect delays as the work is carried out.

Cllr Michael Filer, cabinet member for transport and technical services, said the council had already invested almost £3million into Road Rescue.

“Road Rescue is our road improvement programme, which has delivered large-scale resurfacing schemes across many of Bournemouth’s heavily used roads,” he said.

“The aim of Road Rescue is to bring our roads and pavements up to the standard expected by residents, businesses and motorists.

“I am delighted we are able to continue these improvements across other parts of the borough.”

The Southcote Road work will see a section of the road and pavements resurfaced and is expected to take up to four weeks, during which time temporary traffic restrictions and road closures will be in place.

The Wimborne Road resurfacing works will affect the stretch of road between Victoria Park Avenue and Ensbury Park Road and are expected to take three weeks.

And the Muscliffe Lane resurfacing works will take up to four weeks to complete and will require local traffic diversions to be put in place.
