Runners and walkers are being sought for Dorset Blind Association’s annual charity run.
The event, which takes place on Sunday from Boscombe Pier offers both a 5k and 10k course with either one or two trips from Neptune’s Cafe next to the restored pier, to Fisherman’s Walk and back.
Fundraising collected will support the efforts of Dorset Blind Association which works with up to 1,000 people in Dorset every month who have to live with sight loss.
Charity chief executive Jonathan Holyhead said: “We get no state funding at all so have to rely entirely on donations. A little money can go a long way – just £8 can support transport costs of two home visits to an isolated elderly person, for instance, so we would be incredibly grateful if as many people as possible could enter this event and help us to continue our work.”
There is no minimum sponsorship, but there is a £5 entry fee. To register for the run or find out more about Dorset Blind Association visit dorsetblind.org.uk or call 01202 712869.]
