GRAB your surfboard and head to The Winchester on Tuesday for a gnarly evening of surf film and live acoustic music. The YDNA Boardriders present the film premiere of El Mar, Mi Alma at 8pm.

Shot entirely on 16mm, the award winning film is a visual love song to the surf blessed land of Chile, its people, and the ocean that defines it.

With environmental themes and a political undercurrent, the film paints a picture of Chile’s beauty and association with the sea, centred on the intimate act of surfing.

After the screening, there will be acoustic sets from Jordan Gray, Michael Ricketts and Michael Cassidy. The headline act Cassidy is a singer songwriter from Paisley, Scotland.

He was Ben Howard’s Tour support on the 2011 Every Kingdom Tour.

Michael’s music is best described as alternative folk with an emphasis on melody. He has been playing nights around the country, and is playing this year’s Boardmasters surf festival in Newquay.

The musician also has a debut album that will be released at the end of the year. Tickets are £5 in advance and on the door.
