IT’S nearly here!

Sunday’s 25th Ringwood Pedalcar Grand Prix is fast approaching and it promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

Spectators are being reminded to turn up earlier than usual as there will be two races for the first time.

With just days to go, some pedal cars are still being put together. One dazzling entry is being carefully decked-out with diamante gems.

Race marshals and other volunteers are needed to help set up the race course.

Scores of well-oiled teams will line up by the chequered flag in Market Place at 11.15am and 2.15pm.

Race Director Jim Stride said: “This is an amazing opportunity to see Ringwood town’s streets closed for this ever growing event.

“People should make sure to be down there earlier for this year’s two races.”

The champagne-spraying trophy presentations start on the podium at 4.20pm.

Ringwood is also the place to be on Saturday (14) for the Concours d’elegance.

Teams will fight it out to be voted the best dressed pedal car, and the Princess of Ringwood will also be picked.

Proceeds go to South Coast Cancer Research and Ringwood Festival, which hands out money to local charities.

Marshal volunteers should email Steve Fowler at <&bh"mailto:steve@pampurredpets.com">steve@pampurredpets.com<&eh> To help construct the track from 7am on Sunday, email Howard Cox at howard.cox@bournegroup.eu
