A PERSONAL trainer who became a drug dealer was stopped in Poole with nearly £9,000 worth of cannabis and £8,975 cash in the back of a car.

Daniel Bullock was on Ashley Road in Parkstone when police pulled over the Peugeot 207 being driven by another man, Bournemouth Crown Court heard.

David Richards, prosecuting, said the car was going towards the Seaview roundabout on August 22 last year when it was stopped.

“The police noticed a very strong smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle,” he said. “They found a suitcase in the boot with three kilo bars of cannabis.

“When the driver was astonished by the discovery the defendant was asked what it was and whose it was. He replied, ‘It’s mine and it’s cannabis’.”

Police then searched Bullock’s home at Clifton Road in Hornsey, London, where they found a Tupperware box with almost two ounces of cocaine as well as 1.73 grams of cannabis.

The 27-year-old admitted possessing cannabis with intent to supply and possessing a class B drug.

He also pleaded guilty to possessing a Class A drug and possessing criminal property. Mr Richards said a further £5,800 was recovered from his bedroom.

Nicola Bowen, defending, said: “Bullock is a personal trainer but has become addicted to drugs and is getting rehabilitation for that as well as drink and gambling.”

She stressed the money found in his bedroom was winnings.

Judge Samuel Wiggs imposed a 10-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, with a supervision order and 200 hours’ unpaid work.

He told Bullock: “I think you played a significant role.”
