A MALAYSIAN man appeared before Bournemouth Crown Court yesterday accused of causing death by dangerous driving on Christmas Eve.
Restaurant worker Peter Chen, 40, of no fixed abode, spoke only to confirm his name, through a Mandarin interpreter.
The married father-of-two is charged with causing the death of Ray Tutton, 46, on December 24 last year by dangerous driving and failing to stop. No pleas were entered.
The charges relate to an incident outside the Branksome Railway Hotel in Poole, involving a blue Nissan Micra. No bail application was made and Chen was remanded in custody until April 13.
Mr Tutton, a Poole lift engineer, died from multiple injuries.
