WHEN it comes to the planning process in this country, nothing much happens very quickly.
So it’s no surprise that opposition to the possibility of a windfarm off the coast of Dorset has taken some time to gather coherence.
It hasn’t been helped by what critics say is a lack of concrete information from the company behind the proposals for the Navitus Bay complex.
They might well be perturbed by the claim from Eneco in today’s paper that concerns over the visual impact of the turbines are premature because the project is at an early stage.
Eneco say they haven’t decided how many turbines they need or how high, though this far down the line, sceptics might well think they must have some idea. Campaigners are already warning of structures hundreds of feet high creating a blot on the landscape. Is that right? Eneco would do themselves and everyone else a favour by coming up with as much information as soon as possible.
