BOURNEMOUTH Council’s parks team has received another prestigious award for its Victorian-themed garden, A Novel Approach.
It won a coveted gold medal and the best exhibit in show award at the Royal Horticul-tural Society (RHS) national flowerbed competition at Tatton Park last year.
And now it has been awarded the RHS Wigan Cup as the finest exhibit by a local authority at any RHS show in 2011.
Nursery manager Chris Evans and landscape manager David Ifould led the project, which was funded by a grant from the RHS and sponsorship from council partner Mouchel, landscape contractor Banyards and the council’s housing and landlord services team.
“Winning this prestigious award is a fantastic achievement and I would like to congratulate all those involved in the project” said Cllr Rod Cooper, cabinet lead for economy, leisure and tourism.
