THE sweet smell of Bournemouth has been captured in a fragrance.

Eau de Bournemouth was created by two local mums with a nose for success.

Both Heather Gorst and Jane Popperwell are trained perfume designers and decided to create a scent that encapsulates the essence of the town.

“We wanted to create a fresh, uplifting fragrance that makes you think of summer holidays and the seaside, so we went for something light and citrusy,” Heather explains.

The pair created two fragrances – one for men and one for women – through the Blue Box personalised fragrance range for Vie At Home.

Jane explains: “You can create your own bespoke fragrance, design your own bottle and label and call it any name you like.

“You start by choosing your base note such as floral, oriental, citrus, or woody,” explains Jane.

“These are the same base notes you would find in the big name fragrances. Once you have decided on your base note you can then include up to three blends.”

We hit the town’s streets to see what people thought of the men and women’s version of Eau de Bournemouth.

Eau de Bournemouth is available from Vie At Home price £36.50 for a 50ml bottle.
