BOURNEMOUTH favourites Disco’s Out, (Murder’s In!) have voiced concerns about the lack of live music venues available to local unsigned bands.

“The local music scene is thriving and then again it isn’t. It’s not a dead zone for talent, but just places to play,” says bassist Lee Burchell.

The musician also plays in two other local bands Escape from ‘98 and Monkey’s Uncle.

“The audience is there, it’s venues more often than not. In Bournemouth, Champions Bar will be gone by the end of February and the O2 Academy does not reply to anybody with regards to setting up their own night.

“The same goes for the Old Fire Station. All you’ve got left is Sound Circus, but its reputation as an alternative club can put some people off,” says Lee, 29.

Disco’s Out, (Murder’s In!) have been together for two years and have released several free to download EP’s.

The seven members all play at separate times and Lee describes the sound as “brass fuelled rock” and “a happy, bouncy party band.”
