A SEVERE weather warning has been issued for the South West for snow up until 12pm on Friday.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning, advising the public to take extra care.
With the prospect of snow spreading south to central and some western parts of the country, Jason Glasson of the Highways Agency’s severe weather team, urged: “If you really must travel in the worst conditions, check your vehicle, take a severe weather emergency kit, check traffic and weather conditions, and plan your journey.”
He warned motorists to drive with care, even if road surfaces have been treated and are clear of snow.
Martin Young, chief forecaster at the Met Office, said: “There is a risk of up to 10cm of snow in the worst affected regions.”
