IT was undoubtedly the biggest and most important victory of his career.
But there was not a hint of a jubilant jig or the punch of the air that has accompanied the high points of Harry Redknapp’s long career in football.
Outside Southwark Crown Court yesterday, Harry Redknapp took a sombre walk through the media scrum looking exhausted after the trial.
It took less than 30 seconds for the forewoman of the jury to deliver the four not guilty verdicts on Redknapp and Milan Mandaric.
Redknapp can now resume his career with Tottenham and perhaps with England. A whole host of local charities will share in the general delight at his acquittal.
As a local resident, Redknapp is a huge supporter of countless good causes in this area and has established a reputation as someone who will put himself out to help. The outcome will be almost as sweet for those charities as it is for him.
