LOUISE Murray, director of Scissors Christchurch said: “We’re not happy about it.
“They say these places will be just down the road but they won’t actually draw people into the High Street. It will take shoppers out of Christchurch. What we need is a John Lewis at Home.”
GRAHAM Dearmer, 58, from Southbourne said: “I think there is a need for a new supermarket. Something like Morrisons would be great. When we go on holiday we always go to Morrisons.
“The stuff there is really nice and it is very reasonable. It could affect the town centre .”
EMMA Dearmer, 23 said: “There isn’t really a big supermarket here. In the town centre they are more expensive and you can’t do a decent sized shop at them.
“We need more choice and I would love to see a Morrisons. I hope we get one here. The cafe is great.”
ANDYNE Coetzer, 21 said: “It would be good to have a bit more variety. If Tesco or Asda came then that would be good. We’re all trying to save money.
“There are a lot of elderly people in Christchurch so I am sure they want to save some money. There would need to be good buses.”
