A WOMAN hurt in a serious assault at Upton in Poole has been released from hospital.
The 45-year-old Bournemouth woman suffered a head injury during the incident on a footpath off Sandy Lane at around 4.45pm on Friday.
She was treated at Poole Hospital.
Police are appealing for witnesses and are especially keen to speak to a woman wearing a purple jumper and walking a labrador.
A 38-year-old man from Upton has been arrested and is helping police with their enquiries.
Detectives say the injured woman knows the arrested man.
They say the assault was ‘an isolated incident’ but want witnesses to tell them what they saw.
