Pokesdown, which is branding itself as Bournemouth’s vintage quarter, is hosting another special opening day.

The fashion and furniture shops will be open from 10am to 4pm on Sunday February 12, when they will have a special Valentine’s theme.

A similar event staged shortly before Christmas attracted as many as 2,000 people over the course of the evening when it took place.

Caroline Read, owner of The Tattoo Parlour cafe and a member of the Pokesdown Collective, said the Valentine’s event would be “bigger and better” that the Christmas evening.

Attractions include Valentine’s-themed gifts, an independent traders fayre in the cafe, and open day at the Metropolitan Community Church on Hannington Road.

There will also be street entertainers, and more.

The vintage fashion and antique shops taking part in the special valentine-themed event include: Fishee Design Photobooth, Love From Hetty & Dave, Decades of Design, What Alice Found, The Pokesdown Antiques Centre and also the Kaotichandbag Geek Boutique.

The shops include: Scribe Tattooing, Bournemouth Engraving and Trophy Centre, Tackle 914, We Buy, B&J Patisserie, Classic Drums as well as The Tattoo Parlour Cafe and Hair and Beauty Heaven.
