Dorset Fire and Rescue Service’s Princes Trust programme are looking for young adults to take part in the brand new 12-week programme at Weymouth Community Fire Service.

The personal development programme allows 16-25 year-olds to try many different activities leading up to a City and Guilds qualification.

Participants, who come from a variety of different backgrounds, will have the opportunity to spend a week away at a residential activity centre, undertake a project based in their local community, complete a work placement and participate in a team challenge, involving caring for others.

Jo McGowan, Princes Trust Programme Co-ordinator, said: “The course is aimed at helping to change the lives of young people.

“It gives them something to aim for and a better chance within the workforce.

“We run courses throughout the year across Dorset, but the team in Weymouth will commence on Monday January 30.”
