WORKMEN are now manning temporary traffic lights onto the A35 at Morden Park Corner after “sequencing” problems brought drivers to a standstill.

Fuming motorists complained that traffic being diverted away from the closed A351 north up the B3075 Morden Road on to the A35 was being given priority over the main road, causing long hold-ups as the lights were changing after just three or four cars.

Wessex Water, which is laying a new sewer in Sandford to reduce flooding, has made the change so priority can be given where there is most traffic, reducing the amount of time traffic is stationary.

The A351 is open southbound, and passers-by have complained that little work seems to be going on in the closed lane.
