A LUXURY Sunseeker Yacht got stuck and blocked a busy Bournemouth road for around 30-40 minutes.
The vessel, which was built at the company’s Poole Quay shipyard, was on a lorry heading west on Castle Lane at around 2.45pm on Tuesday.
Rob Wilkinson from A1 Autocentre said it could not fit between two vans parked outside Kwik Fit and the central reservation near the junction with Charminster Road.
He said: “It had the vehicles with the flashing lights escorting it behind and in front. There were lots of guys and police in high-visibility jackets and they were directing the traffic around it until the vans moved.”
A Sunseeker spokesman said: “The route taken was the wide load alternative route, provided to us by Dorset Police.
“The usual route is via Canford Bottom but there are restrictions in place at short notice.
“I believe the boat was our smallest model, the Portofino 48, which is 48 feet long.”
