AN armed robber threatened a woman member of staff at a Bournemouth convenience store with a handgun before tying her up and making off with cash.
The incident at Kinson News in Wimborne Road, Kinson, happened at around 5.15am on Wednesday morning, but police have only just released details.
They say the 48-year-old assistant was not injured in the raid.
Det Constable Mark White of Bournemouth CID said: “After threatening the victim with what appeared to be a silver handgun, the offender ushered her into a back room and tied her up. He stole money and then made off on foot.”
The robber is described as white, 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins tall and wearing a black padded waist-length jacket, dark blue jeans and cream-coloured boots.
DC White asked anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area early on Wednesday morning to contact the police immediately.
“Any information, no matter how insignificant you may consider it to be, may help me to track down the man responsible for this cowardly robbery and bring him to justice,” he said.
At the moment, the police are keeping an open mind about whether the robbery is connected to yesterday’s raid at Little Chef in Winterborne Zelston.
