VANDALS smashed up a children’s playhouse and urinated in the toy saucepans and cups.

Shocked staff discovered the damage at Townsend Community Centre in Bournemouth on Tuesday morning.

All four windows were smashed, the front door kicked in and the interior was soaked with urine and dotted with bags of excrement.

Mum of three Siobhan Clark, 26, hoped her son could use the playhouse that morning and said: “It’s absolutely disgusting – I honestly don’t know how they could do that.”

The ruined playhouse is around the size of a shed and is at the rear of the Jewell Road community centre. Staff were told to leave it a mess in case police forensics officers wanted to examine the interior.

Kelly Yates, 32, the children’s centre teacher, said: “It’s really hard to accept – now we have to clean it. We’re really disappointed. The parents are gobsmacked.

“The stuff inside has been overturned, the play equipment has been thrown around. We will throw the beanbags away.

“We don’t lock it because families use it at the weekend. But if it happens again we might need to move it altogether.”

Staff and parents raised £1,500 to create the playhouse in 2009.

Dorset Police confirmed they were investigating and treating it as a case of criminal damage. A spokesman asked anyone with |information about the incident to call them on 01202 222 222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
