CHRISTCHURCH fire fighters will help host a fundraising event for the Red Ranger Fund on Wednesday.

The 999 Party will take place at Serendipity Sam's in Reid Street, Christchurch from 6pm-8pm.

It will raise money for a young boy from who has been diagnosed with a rare brain tumour.

Fire crews will show the youngsters around a fire engine, talk to them about life as a fire fighter, give them safety advice along with a chance to meet Welephant.

There will also be a buffet, party games and a live host.

Heidi Hawley, a firefighter from Blue Watch at Christchurch said: "Helping to raise money for this charity and allowing this young man to have a great experience in the process is really a nice part of being a firefighter in this community."

Tickets are £8 each and 50 per cent will be donated to the Red Ranger appeal.
