CHART-TOPPING rapper Tinchy Stryder amazed young fans when he turned up on stage at the Forest Arts Centre in New Milton last week.

The 24-year-old star, who has enjoyed two number one singles, was being filmed as part of a new reality TV show - Tinchy Stryder Under Pressure, which is due to go out on ITV2 later this year.

However, Tinchy wasn’t there to rap on stage, instead he tried his hand at stand-up comedy.

Forest Arts Centre director Harriet Webb said she was delighted to allow the rap star to be filmed at the Centre.

“It was a last minute request that I didn’t want to turn down – I hope it added a bit of extra fun for our audience,” she said.

The rap artist appeared on stage last Friday with award-winning comedian Andi Osho, who had spent the day mentoring him and giving tips and advice on how to be a stand up comic.

Young fans Emma Barry, Sophie Weir and Georgia Henderson were also delighted to meet the star.

“We just cannot believe that we have seen him here in New Milton,” said Emma, a Year 11 student at Highcliffe School.
