DARK winter mornings may be getting you down but Bournemouth residents were cheered up with the unusual combination of a TV star, popular music and little bottles of fruit juice.

Thousands of people woke up to discover Tropicana had delivered free juice to their front doors overnight and the company brought TV's Ben Shephard and a gospel choir to Bournemouth Square to welcome people to work.

Research commissioned by Tropicana revealed most people think listening to music brightens their mornings so the choir performed the top five mood-boosting songs.

Number one was Take That's Greatest Day, followed by Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin, Abba's Dancing Queen, Finally by Ce Ce Peniston and Jump by Van Halen.

Ben Shephard, who worked on GMTV for ten years, was part of a team handing out free bottles of juice in the Square between 8am and 9am.

He said: “Having spent years presenting early morning TV, I know first-hand how tough it can be waking up , so I am helping Tropicana to brighten Bournemouth's mornings.”

The company delivered free juice to 10,000 Bournemouth homes overnight and will deliver to a total of 250,000 as the choir tours the country.
