A BOURNEMOUTH band has released a single in aid of a charity that helps children whose parents are killed serving with the armed forces.

Constellation – made up of Ali Davis, Josh Wyatt, Jason Harris, Martin Whitfield and Mark Harris – recorded The Flower Song in aid of Scotty’s Little Soldiers, which was set up by Nichola Scott, the widow of Corporal Lee ‘Scotty’ Scott.

Corporal Scott, from Norfolk and of the Bovington-based 2nd Royal Tank Regiment, was killed in Afghanistan in 2009.

On Saturday night the band played at the Hogshead pub in Westbourne, Bournemouth.

Manager Amanda Webb said: “We raised £100 by going around with a bucket. This is a great charity and everyone seems to want to help.

“It was a fantastic night, great songs and atmosphere – this local band will go far.”

The song can be downloaded via iTunes and Amazon and its highest position in the charts so far has been 75.
