A DOG walker suffered injuries to his neck, face and thumb when he was allegedly attacked by a man with another dog in Ashley recreation ground, New Milton.
Police, who want to hear from any witnesses, say the incident happened at about 3.15pm on Sunday.
The 55-year-old victim is said to have been punched in the face and knocked to the ground when his dog and the other man’s animal, thought to be a white Staffordshire bull terrier, approached each other.
Police say the alleged attacker is white, in his 30s, stocky with a shaven head and stubble. He was wearing dark clothes and black Wellington boots and carrying a grey shoulder bag.
