NEARLY 30 years since their split, the sounds of The Jam are set to be played at an intimate gig at Southampton Guildhall on February 5. In 1982 the mod rockers, fronted by Paul Weller, parted ways but one fourth of the iconic band, Bruce Foxton, is back in the studio.

And now he’s on tour with From The Jam, taking in some of the UK’s smaller and more intimate live music venues, to promote the band’s new release ‘Later Day’.

Next month Bruce and the band — Russell Hastings and former Big Country’s Mark Brzezicki (in place of drummer Rick Buckler) will turn back the years. Recently reconciled following family bereavements, From The Jam’s Bruce Foxton and Paul Weller have been working together on the sleeve notes for the release.

Paul released Fast Car/Slow Traffic from his most recent album, featuring Bruce on bass. There were also incredible scenes when Bruce appeared live alongside Paul last year - for the first time in 28 years – to perform The Jam classics The Eton Rifles and The Butterfly Collector at the second of Weller’s five night residency at the Albert Hall.

Who knows what may happen on stage at the Guildhall?
