INCOMPETENCE.There’s quite a lot of it about at the moment or so it seems.

Certainly, this week (and it ain’t over yet), it has been a bit of a theme.

A report out on Wednesday into the Gulf of Mexico oil disaster revealed huge mistakes and problems in BP’s response to the crisis, at almost every level.

On the same day, it became apparent just how chaotic life around Michael Jackson was at the time of his death.

You’d think when a bloke has that kind of money, things would be a bit better organised. Now, the government has admitted some parts of the country are short of flu vaccine, which comes as a bit of a surprise, given it’s that time of year again.

David Cameron says ministers will keep a close eye on things, which is obviously reassuring. Then there’s the snow issue and the response to the recent downfall, which let’s face it, wasn’t brilliant, with some people STILL waiting for their rubbish to be collected. All in all, when you take a look at what surrounds you in the big wide world, it makes you feel okay about your own general level of incompetence, doesn’t it?

*Meanwhile, the excuse for the delay in the Wessex Way roadworks – already hugely behind schedule - starting up again, is “the nature of the work and the icy weather.”

If I may say so, a typical piece of first rate local government flannel.
