MORE snow is possible as the big freeze continues, forecasters say.

Police in Dorset and Hampshire are continuing to urge drivers to use caution on the roads and have praised drivers for avoiding any major accidents so far.

The A350 at Blandford, between the A354 and B3082 was been closed after an accident on the ice. It has now reopened westbound.

The A35 has reopened following a one-vehicle accident at Bere Regis.

Main routes are otherwise coping well, but side roads are slippery.

Sleet and snow returned to the county at lunchtime on Sunday, with the Met Office warning of more to come. It predicted further falls on Monday of 5-10cm, with up to 20cm on high ground over south west England, as well as widespread ice.

It said there was “considerable uncertainty” over the extent and depth of additional snow.

Wilts and Dorset and Yellow Buses are running, but are subject to diversions and cancellations.

South West Trains is running a revised service and services between Poole and Weymouth have been affected due to electrical supply problems.

Bournemouth Airport has reopened. Passengers should however continue to check with their airline before travelling to the airport. Southampton Airport is also giving the same advice.
