YOUR favourite building could be recognized in the Dorset Property and Architecture Awards.

The celebration of local architecture, sponsored by Bournemouth chartered town planners Planning Solutions allows individuals to vote for their best-loved building in the county of Dorset “with the proviso that it is completed and has been built within the last five years,” according to director Anthony Ramsden-Geary.

He went on to say that the awards were completely free to enter and the application form was available to download from the company’s website.

Categories include best residential scheme, best new commercial or mixed-use scheme, best new community building or project, best new extension/conversion and best rural development.

There are also categories for best architect/practice, best planning department, best environmental/eco project and best estate/letting agency of the year. There will be an overall winner as well.

A panel of judges, including retail expert Jim Hodkinson, chairman of Bournemouth Civic Society Ken Mantock, Timothy Cantell, manager of the South West Design Review Panel, Adam West of CZWG Architects and Daily Echo editor-in-chief Neal Butterworth will mark the entrants.
