ARMED police officers were called to an address in Springbourne at 9.50am on Thursday.
Elwyn Road was closed at its junction with Holdenhurst Road while officers investigated reports of a gun being handled in a threatening manner inside a house.
They searched the property and found two men and an air rifle.
A Dorset Police spokesman said the men knew each other. An 18-year-old man was arrested.
