Two cows and two ponies lost their lives as the result of collisions with vehicles on New Forest roads last week.
The toll started last Tuesday when a yearling filly wearing a reflective collar had to be put down after a collision on the B3055 in the east of the forest.
At 5.20pm two days later, a yearling colt was killed in a collision on the B3080 at Rushy Flats. Four hours after that, a cow was injured and had to be shot on the B3078 at Black Gutter. At 8am the following day, a Galloway cow lost its life at the same location.
A total of 10 collisions were reported during the week.
