THE first major festival of the summer, the Isle of Wight Festival, has announced the first of its headline acts for next June’s 10th anniversary celebration of its rebirth.
American stadium stars Kings of Leon will make their only UK festival appearance at next year’s Isle of Wight Festival, which takes place from June 10-12 at Seaclose Park, Newport.
The Kings’ fifth album Come Around Sundown became their third consecutive long player to debut at number one when it topped the UK charts upon release last month. The second single, Pyro will be out on December 6.
John Giddings, the festival promoter, says: “We are proud to bring one of the world's biggest rock bands to the island on our tenth anniversary. It is an incredible way to start the weekend, I can't wait!”
Tickets go on sale on Friday from usual outlets. More details at isleofwightfestival.com
