A 75-YEAR-old man was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was in collision with a car in New Milton this morning.
The collision happened at the junction of Old Milton Road and the A337 Lymington Road at 7.52am and led to major rush hour traffic tailbacks.
Initial reports to police suggested the injured man was a cyclist, but he later turned out to be a pedestrian.
He was in collision with a blue Nissan Primera. The driver lives in Wimborne.
The vehicle was removed from the accident scene at 10.25am.
