MORE than 2,000 fit cyclists wil be pedalling around the New Forest in early October when sportive promoter UK Cycling Events extends its annual Sunday 100-miler into a weekend sporting festival.
UK Sporting Events, organiser of the Wiggle Super Series, is now working with the New Forest National Park Authority to expand the sportive with mountain bike races and a hillclimb staged by New Forest Cycling Club on the Saturday.
In addition there will be children’s bike rides, live music, entertainment and food for the whole family at the headquarters at Brockenhurst College.
Organiser Martin Barden said: “We are hugely excited to be working with the New Forest National Park Authority to host this cycle festival.
“It’s the perfect way to celebrate a brilliant year of events which have been so well attended.
“A weekend of family fun is the best way to enjoy getting out on your bike.”
