THERE are celebrations being held at Pokesdown Primary School this week as the school marks two awards of excellence, the Healthy Schools Plus Award and The Artsmark Gold Award.
It is one of the first schools in Bournemouth to be awarded The Healthy Schools Plus Award.
While they enjoy their healthy fruit and vegetable snacks, children also have several new initiatives including “Zone Playground” and “Walkabout Wednesdays” which help develop the skills of team building and friendship.
They also have “quiet havens” and a sensory garden.
The Artsmark Award is awarded because of the schools commitment in excellence of Arts education and is nationally recognised as a prestigious and coveted award and sets the standard for outstanding arts provision in schools.
