PURBECK Shooting School recently held a charity day in aid of Help For Heroes.
The morning consisted of a variety of competitions for the experienced shooters, followed by a hog roast, charity auction and prize giving ceremony.
The afternoon was reserved for inexperienced clay pigeon shooters - like myself - to give the sport a go under the tutelage of one of the school’s experienced teachers.
The whole day raised just under £6,000 for Help For Heroes and the cheque was collected by Captain Toby Hood, a member of the shooting school who had been injured by an Improvised Explosive Device in Sangin, whilst on his second Operational Tour of Afghanistan.
