A secure woodland cycleway has opened in Colehill to keep schoolchildren safe.
Dorset County Council created the shortcut to St Michael’s CE Middle School after concerns about congestion.
The route passes through common land between Park Homer Road and Kyrchil Lane before crossing Wim-borne Road and snaking through the wooded Cole-hill Triangle to Colehill Lane and St Michael’s.
With a trailway surface and new wooden entra-nces, it also links up with Middlehill Road to create a route from Canford Bottom roundabout.
Officers from the Colehill Safer Neighbour-hood Team, head teacher Paul Nation and staff and pupils from St Michael’s Middle School watched as Colehill Parish Council chairman, KD Johnson, cut the ribbon with Janet Dover, county councillor for Colehill and Stapehill.
