THE New Forest’s Conqueror Inn hosted a successful charity event earlier this month, raising £1,651 for the Luke Woolner Cancer Foundation.

Guests enjoyed a three-course meal prepared by either the Conqueror Inn team (led by head chef Jim Fiske) or The Print Room’s team (led by head chef Mike Lacouteur).

The evening took the form of Gordon Ramsay’s popular television show, The F-Word, with two teams competing to serve the best starter, main and dessert.

Happily, the “C” stood for charity and not a profanity as per the hit TV show.

Throughout the evening both teams were highly competitive and eager to win and the scores were extremely close. However, The Conqueror Inn pulled out all the stops towards the end of the night, jumping ahead by 23 dessert votes to become the winning team. Most importantly the evening raised more than £1651 that will be put to use at Southampton and Poole hospitals providing the children’s wards with IPod docking stations, Sky TVs and DVD players.

“After such a fun filled evening, we are keen to encourage other restaurants to compete against us and The Print Room are already up for a re-match,” said the Conqueror Inn’s victorious team.
